The Teachers Association of Long Beach is having a Family Picnic on October 29. Go to their website for more information.
Proposition 55 is on the November ballot. We will be phone banking on October 27 (a Thursday). Click this link to learn what Prop 55 means to you and your community. (And please share the link with family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances!)
If you can help us with the phone banking by volunteering for 30 minutes to an hour, please email email@example.com to let us know which day (Oct. 10 and Oct. 27) you will be joining us at the LBCCFA office located at 4421 Village Road, Long Beach, CA.
CCA has sent a letter to President Oakley outlining the articles we will be addressing in the upcoming negotiations. Please look over the document.
The CCA and District proposals will be presented at the Board of Trustees meeting on September 13. Once the Board takes the action to accept the proposals (hopefully at the September 27 meeting), contract negotiations will begin in early October.
Please contact your CCA Rep to share your suggested changes/revisions to the contract; alternatively, you can contact Aundrea Tavvakoly (co-Chief Negotiator) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tom Pinkava, Karen Roberts, Wendy Koenig, and Chris Koenig staffed the CTA Region 3 booth at the 37th Labor Day Solidarity Parade (associated with the LA County Federation of Labor). They helped promote Proposition 55 and other ballot issues that have been endorsed by CTA. (37th-annual-labor-day)
