The LBCCFA Rep. Council voted in support of two resolutions at the May 11, 2018, Representative Council meeting:
The Long Beach City College Faculty Association and Long Beach City College Certificated Hourly Instructors (CHI) have chosen to support College Professor Uduak-Joe Ntuk for the Long Beach Community College District Board of Trustees election next Tuesday, April 10. We join U.S. Senator Kamala Harris as well as numerous organizations and local advocacy groups and endorse Uduak-Joe Ntuk.
As a Long Beach City College alumnus, LBCC Personnel Commissioner, and Professor at CSU Long Beach, Uduak-Joe strongly understands the educational needs and hopes of our students. His commitment and plans for our College District are strongly based on experience and best practices, rather than second-hand knowledge. He also embodies the spirit, the mission, and the Strategic Plan of our College District, with priorities that include community engagement, building a strong workforce, and offering students degree credit while they take vocational or college prep courses.
We admire Uduak-Joe’s dedication to and passion for the Long Beach community, specifically his personal and professional commitment to inclusion and his desire to provide students with opportunity and affordable pathways to completion and success.
Long Beach City College Psychology major and Honors student Clara Ure says it best when she shares “Uduak-Joe is deeply committed to the cause of helping every LBCC student succeed—regardless of their gender, background, ability, or resources. His own experience in overcoming adverse issues that continue to affect much of our student body makes him a candidate who students can relate to, find hope in, and support. I believe he would be an invaluable addition to our College Board.”
On April 10th, we hope the community will join us in renewing its promise to both the Long Beach Community College District’s students and faculty by voting for Uduak-Joe Ntuk for LBCCD Board of Trustees, Area 1.
