Long Beach City College Faculty Association (LBCCFA) endorses Huy Nguyen for the Long Beach Community College District Board of Trustees Area 5
The Long Beach City College Faculty Association (LBCCFA) today announced their formal endorsement of Huy Nguyen for the Long Beach Community College District Board of Trustees Area 5 seat that will be open this November as Virginia Baxter departs the board.
Nguyen, a U.S. Air Force veteran who served two tours of duty in Afghanistan and Turkey, works as an Area Supervisor with the Los Angeles Unified School District, where he is a proud and active member of Teamsters, Local 572. He has B.S. in Behavioral Science from Cal Poly Pomona, an M.S. in Management Information Systems from Bowie State University, and an MBA in Finance from California State University, Long Beach.
“After an extensive interview process, the faculty of Long Beach City College are proud to endorse Huy Nguyen for the open College District Board Area 5 Trustee seat,” said Jeffrey Sabol, Chair of the Faculty Association’s Political Action Committee. “We are very impressed with his extensive background, community experience, and strong working knowledge of Long Beach City College. He will represent our College District and community well.”
The Long Beach City College Faculty Association (LBCCFA) represents the Long Beach Community College District’s 325+ full-time faculty members at the district’s two Long Beach campuses. The group is a member of the California’s Community College Association (CCA) – the higher education affiliate of the California Teachers Association (CTA), as well as the National Education Association (NEA) – the largest public employee association in the nation.
